Hey guys sorry I was MIA for a week or so. I only plan to update this blog about once a week, its the only commitment right now I can keep up with as far as blogging. Now onto this collaboration. I had a received an email a few weeks ago from Honeychrome about creating visuals for his new track "cross". Here we are a few weeks later and I am fresh off the bus from Brooklyn, NY. I left with empty memory cards and came back with tons of visuals, dance footage and even more stock footage for my own visuals. At this very moment I am moving extra media off of my hard drives to make space for all the new fun things I got to film. On this project I was equipped with my Nikon d3100 and a Sony HandyCam. One thing about me is that regardless of the tools I am using I still get the job done. I have made art with the crappiest of USB cameras back in the day so it is nothing to me to use a 5 mega pixel camcorder but it is HD and 60 fps.

The song "cross" spoke to me exploration, self realization and evolution. So the concept we came up with were dream-like, magical visual sequences. In this video Honeychrome astral projects while sleeping, and takes us through the streets of NY in his dream world.

We filmed so many different sequences, its going to be hard in post production to not want to have everything. But that is why we have these briefs so we can show you the work that goes into each project. This brief will be in 2 parts, the pre brief which is this entry and the post brief when the video is finished. We expect to have the video polished in 2 weeks. One week is dedicated to looking through footage, chopping it up and making strong sequences. The 2nd week is dedicated to color correction, fine tuning graphics and time and then of course adding my style of special effects. I am excited to play with this footage, its always fun to plan something out and then get your results in post. I love it.
